Treatment in a Residential Setting

Lifetime Recovery's residential center is situated on a serene  and private 18.5 acre campus in rural southeast Bexar County. This provides the perfect place  for those suffering with drug and alcohol abuse to receive treatment for their addictions and maintain long-term sustained sobriety. ​

​This campus is the largest gender-specific residential care facility for men in South Texas. The goal is the restoration of the family by forming better fathers, better sons, better brothers -- better men.
  • Residential Treatment is 45 to 90 days
  • Clients participate in individual and group therapy
  • Educational sessions and controlled group activities
  • In partnership with CentroMed, onsite non-emergency medical care and routine physicals.

What Can You Bring to the Residential Campus?

1. Medications -   If you are taking a prescription medication, you must bring a ninety (90) day supply. Medications must be in the original pharmacy container that has your name, the name of the prescribing physician and date the medication was prescribed. This information must be pre-printed on the label. Medications will be dispensed as prescribed by the physician. Common “over-the-counter” medications for health concerns such as allergy, cough, and upset stomach are available at Lifetime Recovery. Clients are not permitted to bring these types of medications with them.
2.   Clothing - Bring enough clothing to last a seven (7) day time frame. Storage space is very limited. Sleeveless shirts are not permitted. Clothing items with pictures or writing about alcohol, other drugs, sex, profanity, or gang affiliation are not allowed. Shorts must be at least knee-length. Sports apparel is allowed during recreation periods. You are required to have a pair of close-toed shoes for safety reasons. Shower slippers may be worn in the showers and dorms only.
3.   Toiletries - Bring enough of personal toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, shaving cream, disposable razors, to last at least thirty (30) days. No mouthwash or cologne containing alcohol will be allowed on the grounds. Shower soap will be supplied. Towels and bedding are provided by Lifetime Recovery and use of personal linen will not be allowed. Washing machines and dryers are available free of charge (no outside laundry detergent allowed).
4.   Money - You are responsible for the safety of your own money. Large sums of cash are prohibited. You will need dollar bills, change, or a debit card to purchase items from the vending machines (sodas & snacks). There are no change machines available on the grounds of Lifetime Recovery. Lifetime Recovery is not responsible for any money lost or stolen.
5.   Personal devices - No cell phones, pagers, cameras, video equipment, devices with Internet access, or any other similar electronic devices are allowed. Clients are permitted to have an alarm clock and a Walkman/CD player with headphones, for use in the dorm room only. Lifetime phones are available for use.
6.   Sharp objects - Pocket knives, fixed-blade knives, scissors, or any other type of blade are prohibited. They cannot be on your person, in your locker, luggage or personal toiletries kit. These items will be confiscated.
7.   Tobacco - If you smoke cigars, cigarettes, or use other tobacco products, you are responsible for bringing a supply. No tobacco products are sold at Lifetime Recovery.
8.   Vehicles - Personal vehicles are not permitted on the grounds during the Intensive phase of treatment. Clients are permitted to have their vehicle onsite during the Supportive phase of treatment, provided they are able to provide a valid TX driver’s license, proof that the vehicle is registered in their name, and proof of current insurance.
9.   Mail -  You are allowed to bring your own writing materials and stamps as you are allowed to send and receive mail.
