Established in 1963, Lifetime Recovery has served the people of the Bexar County and South Texas community for the past 60 years. Lifetime has successfully led thousands on their journey to recovery, with many alumni becoming highly productive members of society. Lifetime Recovery has developed and maintained long-standing relationships with Federal, State and County entities, Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Programs, and other agencies to obtain financial resources for treatment of the uninsured, under-insured, and medically indigent population.
After experiencing tremendous growth in the clients served, Lifetime has expanded to provide services for more than 2,500 participants annually. Recent expansions include increasing outpatient co-ed clients and expanding the outpatient facility with new amenities to enhance the client's treatment experience.
Lifetime Recovery is a nonprofit corporation under Section 501 (c)(3) of the IRS, and is licensed through the Texas Department of State Health Services. Lifetime holds a GuideStar Platinum-level deal of Transparency and accredited from the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
THE NEXT 40 YEARS
Lifetime Recovery has grown to be one of the largest residential treatment centers in South Texas and the only gender-specific inpatient treatment for men. In order to continue a 60 year legacy of providing the highest quality, client-centered care for men suffering the ravages of substance use disorders, it is critical and urgent that Lifetime renovate three Heritage buildings which exist on the Southton Road residential campus. Lifetime's Building for Recovery Campaign Thank you to everyone who has supported the effort to revitalize and modernize Lifetime Recovery’s 18.5-acre Southton Road campus. The historic buildings constructed over 80 years ago are in urgent need of renovation to meet current building codes, remain functional and offer clients a level of dignity in their recovery.
We are very grateful to our community partners and donors who have supported Lifetime’s Building for Recovery capital campaign.
Phase One of construction began in October 2020 and was completed October 2021. These renovations and construction included underground infrastructure, a new state-of-the-art kitchen, dining room, flexible community space, facilities maintenance and laundry building, recreational and campus grounds and improvements to the campus entrance and parking lot.
Phase Two construction began in January 2022 and includes the construction for two additional Residential Halls and Counseling Centers. Construction on one of them was completed in February 2023 and construction on the second is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
Phase Three - We are currently working to secure $5 million in funding for Phase III, which includes the construction and renovations of our primary building, “Old Main” to be named the Red McCombs Recovery Center. We will continue to keep you updated as progress continues.
